The 10th anniversary edition of one of the most impactful celebrations of Romanian film in North America
We are pleased to cement our long-time partnership with the Romanian Film Festival Seattle by renewing our support for the 10th edition of an event that has become one of the oldest and most impactful celebrations of Romanian film in North America. With a thought-provoking lineup made of the most recent, award-winning productions, the Festival explores a great array of topics through the unflinchingly honest perspective that has become the trademark of the Romanian film-making. The festival is organized by the American Romanian Cultural Society Seattle (ARCS) in partnership with Northwest Film Forum, SIFF Uptown Cinema and Arizona ARCC, with support from the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York and 4 Culture. Ilie, a small-town police chief, wants to build a modest, comfortable life for himself, but ends up making the wrong choices. The moment he gets involved in the village marks the beginning of his collapse. In a vacuum of solutions, he tries to be what he has never been before: the justice seeker who arrests everyone guilty.
