While the pandemic seems to loosen its grip and the world is eager to bounce back from isolation and fear, the new reality that awaits us is still pretty much the realm of imagination. We have invited some of the most important Romanian contemporary authors to share their take on how they think life would look like when the ordeal is over. The next guest in our long-running exercise in auctorial foresight is the award-winning Bessarabia-born writer Tatiana Țîbuleac, the winner of the prestigious European Union Prize for Literature in 2019. Moldovan-Romanian writer TATIANA ȚÎBULEAC was born in 1978 in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. She holds a Degree in Journalism and became known in 1995 as the author of the "True Stories" column in the Flux daily newspaper. In 1999, she joined the team at PRO TV Chișinău as a reporter, editor and news anchor and also worked for UNICEF in Moldova. Since 2008 she has been living in Paris. Tatiana Țîbuleac made her debut as a writer in 2014 with a collection of short stories, "Fabule moderne" (Modern Tales), which appeared at Urma Ta Publishing House, Chișinău. She published her first novel, entitled "Vara în care mama a avut ochii verzi" (The Summer When My Mother had Green Eyes, Cartier Publishing House) in 2017. The book was awarded the prize of the Writer´s Union of Moldova, the prize of the Observator Cultural literary magazine in Bucharest and the Lyceum Prize at FILIT Festival in Iași. In Spain, it received the Booksellers Recommend 2020 Prize for Fiction and Calamo Prize. "Grădina de sticlă" (The Glass Garden), her second novel, won the 2019 European Union Prize for Literature. Tatiana Țîbuleac ‘s books are translated into 12 languages.
"Life Anew. Writers Imagine the World after the Pandemic" is a program of bilingual readings created together with the National Museum of the Romanian Literature in Bucharest.
